“A Harlem Night With IFS” — at McLoone’s Boathouse.
On behalf of the Board of Trustees and Staff at IFS, we are extremely pleased to report that we exceeded our goal and guests enjoyed a night filled with music, fun, networking opportunities, and a special IFS Martini in our signature burgundy color. We also enjoyed a live performance by Jayne Trinette.
This event allowed us to showcase the many programs and services offered at IFS. A former client, Genesis Malacara, Genesis inspired the crowd with her story of working her way through the foster care system and tales of moving from home to home and how IFS changed her life. Her presentation was rounded out by a surprise at its conclusion; Genesis was awarded a $1,000 scholarship by an anonymous donor!
As an added bonus, Bryan Jenkins, Anchor, News 12 NJ, served as our MC and provided commentary on why we should continue to support IFS.
In the next few weeks, we will launch our end of year annual appeal on #GivingTuesday. This day is designated as the day charities gather their supporters and requests donations or volunteer opportunities during the holiday season. But more important it is a day for raising awareness about what IFS is all about. Look for our #GivingTuesday email and postcard.
