IFS has been working with residents to develop a comprehensive resident-driven neighborhood revitalization plan, with the goal of increasing the quality of life for families. We plan to improve residents’ quality of life by working with them and investors to increase access to affordable housing, recreational facilities, affordable quality health care, jobs and enhanced public safety.
EO Talks – This monthly support group, primarily for East Orange residents, provides a forum for discussion of and participation in collective strategies created to assist families with empowering themselves to be able to access needed services and develop community support networks.
Read-To-Lead – A literacy initiative to instill a love of reading in African American boys. Boys who read during their visit to barbershops, receive free or half-priced haircuts and free books.
Welcome 2 Success Orientation – Monthly orientation held to introduce community members to the programs and services provided at the Center.
