East Orange Family Success Center Relocates to Ambrose Ward Mansion

On August 1, 2017, the IFS East Orange Family Success Center moved to its new home located at the African American Fund of New Jersey Headquarters at 132 South Harrison Street, East Orange, NJ 07018.

The EOFSC has outgrown its former location on Evergreen Place and for ten (10) years the Family Success staff  worked in an overcrowded space while helping children and their parents find the resources they need to overcome challenges.  In 2016, the center’s primary funder requested that IFS relocate to a larger space to better meet the needs of families in the greater East Orange community. We went to work immediately and thanks to additional funders such as the Orange Orphan Society, the Montclair Fund for Women, and the Investors Foundation we were able to find the perfect space.

After months of searching for a new location, we found an affordable site that is double the size of our old space and will allow our staff to expand its reach and serve the needs of the community.

With this new space, the EOFSC will have the capacity to reach over 1,200 individuals (or 400 families) up approximately 20% – 25% from the current level of service of 900 individuals (or 300 families). A 3-day celebration is being planned for October 2017.
